Our journey, philosophy, and the people who make our studio special.
Solvana Yoga was founded in 2010 by Sarah Miller, a dedicated yoga practitioner with over 20 years of experience. After traveling throughout India and studying with master teachers, Sarah returned home with a vision to create a space where people could experience the transformative power of yoga in an authentic and accessible way.
What began as a small studio with just a handful of students has grown into a thriving community of practitioners of all ages and backgrounds. Despite our growth, we've maintained our commitment to personalized instruction and creating an environment where everyone feels welcome.
Our name, "Solvana," combines "sol" (sun) and "nirvana" (transcendent state) - symbolizing our aim to help students find inner light and peace through practice.
At Solvana Yoga, we believe that yoga is for everybody and every body. Our approach is rooted in these core principles:
We honor the ancient traditions of yoga while making them relevant to contemporary life. Our teaching is grounded in respect for yoga's origins and philosophical depth.
We strive to make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age, body type, or experience level. Our classes are designed to meet students where they are and support their individual journey.
We foster a sense of belonging and connection. Solvana is not just a studio—it's a community where relationships are built and nurtured both on and off the mat.
We encourage continuous learning and self-discovery. Yoga is a lifelong practice, and we support our students in developing a sustainable practice that evolves with their needs.
Solvana Yoga founded by Sarah Miller in a small one-room studio with just three weekly classes.
Expanded to a larger space and added our first teacher training program.
Launched our community outreach program, bringing yoga to schools and underserved populations.
Opened our current location with multiple practice rooms, a meditation garden, and wellness center.
Successfully pivoted to online classes during the pandemic, reaching students globally.
Continuing to grow our community both in-person and online, with a focus on accessibility and inclusion.
Our experienced instructors bring diverse backgrounds and teaching styles to create a rich and supportive learning environment.
