I've never done yoga before. Which class should I start with?

We recommend our Hatha Yoga or Beginner's Flow classes for those new to yoga. These classes move at a slower pace, provide detailed instructions, and offer modifications for all poses. You might also consider booking a private session to get personalized guidance before joining group classes.

Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?

Absolutely not! This is one of the most common misconceptions about yoga. Yoga is a practice that can be adapted to your individual needs and abilities. Many people start yoga precisely because they want to improve their flexibility. Our instructors provide modifications for all body types and ability levels.

What should I wear to yoga class?

Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely. Many people prefer fitted clothes that don't bunch up during poses, but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable. You'll practice barefoot, so no special footwear is needed.

What should I bring to class?

We provide mats, blocks, straps, and blankets for your use. If you prefer to bring your own mat, you're welcome to do so. We recommend bringing a water bottle and a small towel if you tend to sweat. For hot yoga classes, a larger towel is recommended.

How early should I arrive for class?

We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before your first class to complete any necessary paperwork and get settled. For returning students, 5-10 minutes is sufficient to set up your space and center yourself before class begins.

How often should I practice yoga?

This depends on your goals and schedule. For noticeable benefits, we recommend practicing at least 2-3 times per week. However, even once a week can provide benefits. Some dedicated practitioners come daily, while others visit a few times a week. Listen to your body and develop a consistent schedule that works for you.

What's the difference between the various styles of yoga you offer?

We offer several styles to meet different needs:

  • Hatha: A gentle practice focusing on basic postures and breathing techniques.
  • Vinyasa: A flowing practice that synchronizes movement with breath.
  • Yin: A slow practice with poses held for longer periods to target deep connective tissues.

Can I practice if I have an injury or medical condition?

Yoga can be adapted for a variety of needs, and safety is always our priority. Please consult with your healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program. Inform your instructor about any injuries or conditions before class so they can suggest appropriate modifications. For specific concerns, we recommend booking a private session for personalized guidance.

Studio Policies

What is your cancellation policy?

For regular classes, we ask that you cancel at least 2 hours before class time to avoid being charged for the session. For private sessions and special workshops, we require 24-hour notice for cancellations. You can cancel through our online booking system or by calling the studio.

Do you offer refunds on class packages or memberships?

Class packages are non-refundable but have a generous expiration period. Monthly memberships can be frozen once per year for up to 30 days for illness, injury, or travel. Annual memberships include two freeze options per year. Please contact our front desk for specific situations.

Is there parking available?

Yes, we have a dedicated parking lot with free parking for students. During peak hours, street parking is also available in the surrounding area. We encourage carpooling or using alternative transportation when possible as part of our environmental commitment.

Are children allowed in classes?

Our regular adult classes are suitable for ages 16 and up. Teens 13-15 may attend with a participating adult. We offer specialized kids' yoga classes (ages 5-12) and family yoga sessions several times per week. Check our schedule for these offerings.

Is yoga a religious practice?

While yoga has roots in ancient Indian spiritual traditions, the practice as taught at our studio is not religious. We focus on the physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation practices that promote physical and mental well-being. Students of all religious backgrounds (or none at all) are welcome, and there is no expectation to adopt any particular belief system.
